The good news is that 1) "graphite" is grey -- a dark shade of grey -- and on my screen it looks as if this darker grey works better with your brown shades that a lighter, "truer" grey might; and 2) your room appears to need softening regardless of the bed color.

What is the wall finish, and have you had this done recently? Or are there plans to paint? Do you have plans to make any more changes to the room, or is everything that we can see in the picture staying?

If everything is staying, I'd add a large, patterned wool rug; table lamps, which should NOT be too short and squat; either curtains (preferably) or a Roman shade on the window; and art (preferably not anything black-and-white).

I went to the Ashley listing for the bed, and the only problem with this ^ advice is that the bed in question comes in only one color -- on the page, it's described as "made with graphite colored textural upholstery". The discrepancy seems to arise from the photo, which shows a lighter rather more beige-y color. Not sure if Ashley ever sold a different colorway for the product or if they're just sloppy with their website photography.

A properly-sized comforter/duvet and four or five pillows in shams set against the headboard will also go a long way toward softening the room and covering the grey.

Are thoswe walls sponged or is that just waht it looks like on my monitor. Some fab bedding would go a long way to improve the look Some great lamps on the night tables . I actually like the bed where it is it fits and the foot of the bed is not the first thing you see .

We just moved in. IIts a textured wall and yes sponged but blended. Any suggestions on the color of the comforter duvet? Thank you so much.
