I've been looking at the house app and reading the advice section for years in anticipation of having a home and finally my husband and I bought a home! There is so much to do, so little time and so little money( right now we need to spend on some structural/plumbing fixes).

I'd like some suggestions and advice on what we can do to our living room/dining room. I'd appreciate some long-term advice and 'making our way there' advice. By that I mean, what can we do right now with our current furniture while working toward our ideal space?

I love an uncluttered(or clean looking), fresh, eclectic style that is not formal or stiff.

The carpets will go( we have hardwoods underneath..I'm adding a picture of what they will look like once refinished.) The sofa will go( down the road). The coffee table can go at any point. The TV will stay, and the cradenza it is on can move to another room.

I don't like the display cabinet in the corner and it will be removed.
