Does anyone remember Lamb Nursery, I think it was Spokane, Washington? I still have the hosta I ordered from them in the late 80s.

I still have plants from Lamb's Nursery. Great place. Was able to drive to Fairweather and miss them. Lazy S's was a favorite, also. Too bad.

Colvos Creek closed too, a number of years ago. Great mail-order place.

Sole proprietorships are notoriously difficult to sell, and I bet nurseries are amongst the hardest. Too bad for sure.

I am so sorry to hear they could not find a buyer. They carried many unusual plants and very reasonable prices. The mail order universe continues to shrink!!

I'm sorry to hear that. I haven't ordered from them recently, but their selection and variety were unbeatable. I wasn't on their mailing list any longer or I would have bought a few of the perennial mums they carried. Did they have a sale? It is really too bad.

If they had a sale, I wasn't notified. And I ordered in the last three years, maybe last two.

I don't think they had a final sale. I ordered from them late this summer--August I think--and everything was regular price. Don't know what happened to their plants.

I actually sent an email asking that..but received no answer. However, I only asked since this thread started (first I knew), and while they're still shipping orders, ordering is closed, so maybe my email went to never never land too.

What are the go-to nurseries for evergreen shrubs like boxwood and holly?

I have ordered from Evergreen Plant Nursery in TN before and had a good experience.

Oh, I finally got an answer sometime in the late fall. They used much of their remaining inventory in landscaping their new home (makes great sense to me).

jc might get more responses if they started their own post.. rather than burying the request for info in an old post ...

that said ... im sure they will get a lot of responses here.. lol ...
