Kitchen remodel help!

We're wanting to do a complete transitional style, if posssible, kitchen makeover from top to bottom. Not sure where to begin with limited space. Any advice on how to update this outdated kitchen would be appreciated. kitchen size 11'9" wide x 11'9" deep. The attached dining room adds 9'7" onto the depth.

Can you draw a 2D floor plan of your space, including the rooms next to the kitchen?

Who lives in the house? How many cooks work in the kitchen at the same time? What are your must-haves? Your hope-to-haves? Your never-ever-will-I-haves?

How extensive a remodel are you planning? New floors, counters, cabinets? Willing to move appliances? Willing to move plumbing?

How do you feel about the bulkhead above your cabinets? Is it functional or decorative (i.e. are there wires/pipes running through it)?

Do you have an idea what your ideal kitchen looks like?

3 people live in home. 2 adults and one child. 2 cooks. We would like to rid of stove and just have a electric cook top. a built in double oven, if possible. Move the dishwasher from where its at and put it next to the sink and remove the connected island thats currently in place. If a new island is possible, in the center of the kitchen, maybe the cooktop can go into that? that could free up extra space for cabinets? We defiantly would like to remove the bulkhead above the cabinets. We would like to show more wall in the kitchen and less cabinets then we currently have now, maybe add some shelving to make that happen? Add a backsplash throughout kitchen going up towards crown molding, white beveled subway tile for backsplash is a must, we love the look! We would want to add crown molding in kitchen, dining, and living room. the bedrooms have crown molding currently. We are thinking less cabinets. however, we would like the new cabinets to be spacious and accommodate more room inside. A new sink is a must have. also, husband would like to keep the original real hardwood flooring. colors we love are whites, grey, and shades of blue. We don’t have a never will I ever list. whatever works and would be appealing in the small space would be great! We are willing to move appliances and plumbing.

    Some missing dimensions:

    Window:

    - width (including trim)

    - distance from corner

    French Doors:

    - distance from corner

    Other door:

    - width (including trim)

    - distance from corner

    - where does this door go??

A quick rearrangement is attached below (with some guesses due to incomplete measurements). The width of the room is sort of too small for an island and a bit large for a U-shape (which is what I've mocked up). The island version wasn't working for me because basically there ends up being just 1 wall that has the fridge, the wall oven(s) and the cooktop --> it's just too cramped. And you don't want to move your cooktop to the island because placing a proper hood over it sort of negates the openness aspect and generally islands aren't deep enough (so a hot burner is near an edge).

    The layout below

    - opens up the window wall via open shelves, moves the sink slightly, and gets the DW next to the sink. There's a 24" drawer unit to the right of the DW for dishes/cutlery

    - cabinets near the cooktop are for oils, pasta, rice, etc etc

    - drawers under the cooktop store your pots & pans

    - room for the toaster oven in the corner

    - stacked micro + wall oven (if you really want a second oven, you could replace the cooktop with a slide-in range)

    - 36" wide fridge with over-fridge cabinet for additional storage
