No fake peak--the pitch of the roof is too low. But converting that entry to a proper porch would be nice, with columns on the front.

What material is the siding on the second floor? If it is vinyl, it is risky to paint it a darker color that could absorb more light, and cause the siding to buckle. If the siding is vinyl, it is also risky to mess around with the shutters. Removing them could leave holes in your siding. I am not sure how you fastened the spiders to the siding.

To get some ideas, I suggest that you look at new homes and see what features are used on modern parade of homes houses that can be adapted to your house easily and affordably.

@groveraxle, it doesn’t have to be trulet modern just a upgrade. i see similar homes updating and wondering what we could do with ours. I like the idea of pillars, different door with side lights, i love the wood look but I think in the picture it sorta looks funny BC the shape of the house, I want to change the stone color for sure
