Even the hostas that have been upended by the tree fall are still doing great here. It’s been so warm my rhododendrons have some blossoms. First freeze is predicted for next week. They’re all in for a surprise!

I’m sure my garden in Colorado is toast. We are heading back there on Friday. The garden here in NY is going to bed. Frost tomorrow! Can’t post pictutes! Tried several times!

Toast for sure, sunnywood! We had hard frost and significant snow already. lindalana, it's rarely cold and dreary here. Cold and snow may last for a few days, followed by sun. It was bright, sunny and nearly 60 today. I was busy outside all day. The weird thing was that we never really had Fall. Many of the trees and shrubs in my yard didn't have a chance to lose their leaves. So frost and snow came right on green which is now squishy and green.

After that hot, dry summer here in Germany I would have thought they just die, but I had a golden October :-) But more than 50% have lost their leaves and moved to their winter homes.

We get no rain until maybe some to wreck Thanksgiving Day bbq's in late NOvember.

They do eventually die back, water or not. Methinks it is a light thing, with the days getting shorter.
