covering hostas during freezing nights

Does anyone cover their hostas overnight in the fall to get a few more days/weeks out of them?


It's supposed to get down to a degree or two below freezing tonight and I just came back in from covering my hostas with bed sheets and whatever I could get my hands on. The temps during the day this week is going to be 10-12 degrees above freezing, so I'm not ready to see my beloved hostas freeze because of one freezing night. I hope it helps.

    I’m actually ready for the garden to go to sleep for awhile now... it was exhausting trying to keep everything alive and well in the hot, dry summer. I welcome a little break, and look forward to the alphabet, and then the spring - a fresh start.
