If a plant has nematodes that means it will have it next year also???

IF it is nematodes, then it will be back next year. BUT it is not clear whether it is or not. Can you take a closer photo of a couple of infected leaves? My Blue Mouse Ears looked to have nematodes one year. I posted a photo on this forum. Some said yes to nematodes and others no or were not sure. I kept it in a pot and isolated from other hostas. No sign of nematodes ever since!

Can you clear up nematodes if the hosta is taken out of the ground or out of the pot and then replanted?

Did you just notice the markings of this hosta after the hurricane damage? I am asking that because the BME's hosta (in above picture) sustained damage after a hail storm. It was days after the hail that I found the nematode like markings, not before.

nhl, when I look at your BME it looks like the markings are the result of the damage. On the Frisian Pride the brown stripes looked like they also might be from damage, but the yellow stripes that start by the petiole are what bothered me. Maybe it’s just how FP starts going dormant, but anyway it’s already at the landfill. With the pile of trees in the yard I just didn’t need another Intensive care Hosta in my life.
