Looks great! It's subtle but is easier on the eye. I especially like that your coffee table is centered in the rug now as well. It's the little things.

You could also shift the seating area (couch, chairs, rug) toward the TV about half a foot. You don't want to be too far away for viewing. Also, I know you don't want to buy more furniture but that would leave enough room for a console table behind the couch. Just an idea!

The only other nitpick-y thing is to center the two pictures in-between the edge of the window and the bookcase.

The red plaid chair slides on the wood floor all the time.

I like the "cohesive" look: that the chair for example, repeats nearby tile [golden beige?]... I guess you picked the paint color too.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Now we’ve got another one...we’re wanting to go with a farmhouse look. What would you add or delete from what we have?

It's Sunday... any returning post-ers? Well to me the rug isn't the best, though maybe for style of wingback... but less for sofa, and less for practical tile [that's the kitchen?]… Transitional better?

We do have a jute rug in another room?

How big.... have you tried it to experiment?

Your photos are small so it’s hard to see the detail of all the furniture etc. Farmhouse to me means cozy, comfortable and decor items are useful rather than just decorative. Candles and fresh flowers on a coffee table rather than a bowl of glass spheres.
You mentioned the other chair is a red plaid, which should work but can’t really see it. I suggest you move the wingback chair by FP instead, make it cozy with a throw and pillow, have some books nearby along with a floor lamp. See example below.

I don’t think the rug works either. It may be the photo but on my monitor it looks “muddy coloured” and doesn’t do anything for the room.
I think I’d like to see better pics of red chair, coffee table and tv stand before making other suggestions.
