I think the marble look quartz would look great with hardwood floors and white cabinets, but I'm not sure about your beige/taupe island color. I would stick with white or stained wood for that. And keep the backsplash very simple.

I think as long as the veining in the quartz is more subtle, and in the same warm shades as the floor, it will be beautiful and help tie the spaces together.

I just finished a remodel and used Calacutta Gold marble for my floors in the bathroom. They have beige/gold veins running through them and so read much warmer than other marbles. My bathroom cabinets are Quarter Sawn Oak in a medium honey stain and I was just admiring the bathroom in terms of how the flooring with the beige complements the wood and other elements. My floors are mosaic basket weave tiles but the slab Calacatta has the gold/beige obviously as part of the design element. You would want to go to the stoyeyard and pick out exactly what slab you want as there is a good deal of variation even between stones that theoretically are the same.

I was originally going to use Calacatta Gold marble for my master bath and went to the stone yards specifically looking at those.

However I didn't like the prominent veining of most marbles and I fell in love with a French Vanilla slab which has almost no veining but is still creamy in tone rather than gray so it goes well with the Calacatta Marble floor tiles.

Even within those slabs labeled "French Vanilla", there were variations so I still picked the one I liked the most. Here's a picture of the slab when I picked it.

That is beautiful!! Unfortunately with my coffee and wine habits and three kids 4 and under, real deal marble is probably not the best choice for our family.

IMO, a faux-marble quartz would clash with your floors. Their veining and fake look would not be a compliment to your floors.

Perhaps a solid color would be a better match? Pick up a color in your flooring. A counter color like on your paint swatch or anything from your floors...

Love that French Vanilla above that Helen posted!. If it's a quartzite, it would be perfectly fine with kids, wine, babies...(stronger than granite).

I hope you have a piece of tile from your floors to take to the stone yards with you. That is the only way to pick a complementary countertop. Bring samples of everything that is in the line of site. (A cabinet door is critical.)
Your floor has strong veining. I’d be careful to pick something that has pale veining if a solid color countertop turn you off.

I was initially scared by all the stories of marble nightmares but it doesn’t seem to have been an issue for the people I talked with.

Not sure what you mean by clean because the marble looks clean. What will happen is etching that takes the shine off but it really depends on personality. I installed a copper kitchen sink with a living patina that will never be shiny but will change depending on what it comes in contact with but I like it. Sort of like a pair of well worn jeans that are clean versus jeans that you take to the cleaners.

I think your floors are very pretty but I fear that mixing marbles will clash. A marble with very little movement might be okay but a solid color counter will really pull your kitchen elements together nicely. Do a search of Marble Floors and Marble Counters and you will not find many of them together.

agree with others, i would not mix real marble with a fake marble. its very hard if not impossible to pull of correctly.

you are not tied to a marble look alike just b/c your foyer is marble. get what you want! your foyer is very "bossy", so i would want to get away from it rather than try to tie it together. even though foyer leads you kitchen, your kitchen can still have its own identity.

if u want to tie it together go with "virginia mist" or something similar. that will quiet down the marble.

I would leave your beautiful marble floor and use a black countertop and definitely not of marble ! Marble is not good in the kitchen a s a countertop , to soft and it stains . I have it ..and no matter how many people tell you it's not a problem ...it can be a disaster ...it will stain ..hard to clean and it's just not a good idea . If you really love white ..do white ..but I would do black ...and keep the marble on the floor ! It can't get more beautiful than that ! Look at the photo someone sent you with the black countertop !!!!!

You can use a plainer quartz like Caesarstone organic white and then use a marble backsplash either in tile or slab that's complimentary. A leather finished black granite with a marble splash would also look nice.

I would not do a marble counter top with marble floors. I would do a more solid white color as to not clash/compete with the flooring. IMO the only other thing you could do is solid black counter tops, and I'm just not a personal fan of black counter tops in kitchens. I think that's a color that is hard to make look clean. I think black counter tops are best in bars.

I would wait until you can post pictures of the kitchen before asking advice

on counters. We need to see color of flooring and cabinets before making a suggestion.

I think that people commenting here haven't actually read everything, and are thinking your marble floors are in the kitchen. The kitchen has hardwood floors. The marble is through a small doorway - look at the photos!! Quartz is so much more durable than marble, and will look great with your wood floors and white cabinets. Just look for a warm white with a subtle veining.

I , for one, heard that the entry and the extended entry area is marble. And so I stick with my earlier response that that is enough marble. I would not do any more marble, or marble looking, material into the kitchen whether that is flooring or counter tops. She asked about over doing marble, I say that is over doing it. IMO.

I also wasn't confused about where the marble was or was not. Actual color of cabinets and flooring pics would still be needed to make any suggestions. There are many shades of "white" and of "flooring".

Yes, I was confused. I apologize. I am one of those that thought the marble floor leading into the kitchen was the floor throughout the kitchen.

A photo of the kitchen would really help me to help you. Sorry for my confusion. If the floors are different than the hall, I would go with marble. I say go for marble counters!!! I love mine. I even did a backsplash of the same marble. Mine has gorgeous veins and patterns. Marble has been used for 100s of years in kitchens and is beautiful.
