Hi Lisa, I have hade a big one for 5 years or longer. Give it plenty of light and if it is in a fast draining mix, keep it on the wet side. Mine dries out quickly in Florida so it drinks a lot. It loves fertilizer and blooms up a storm for me and reaches lengths of 5 to 6 feet long inside of 2 years. Some leaves, more than others take after one of the parents, Obscura and produce huge veined leaves that stand out from all the rest. This is one of my most favorite plants out of the 50 plus species I grow 'wild' on my patio that faces west. It is also one of the more fragrant of the Lacanosa clones as one bloom can invade my den through the sliding glass doors beside me and haunt me with its beautiful scent.

In other words, I highly recommend this one. It is very easy to care for and is a quick grower.

Karen, the plant is a Michael Miyashiro cross he pollinated with the parents being Obscura and Lacanosa. SRQ had it. Gardino's, too. You can Google it for reference, there are many. I have trouble posting pics on here but there are several of my plant already on a post that Denise started. In the above "Search in GardenWeb…." put in "mutant peduncle" the first post that shows is one by Denise that say's "Check this out". In that thread there are pictures of my plant. The peduncles mutate on that one and give out double and triple blooms everywhere.
