We are having a Daikin floor mounted heat pump unit installed in a remodel for our playroom. The installers all seem to prefer just mounting them on the wall so the full 8” of depth will be exposed. This would be the simplest and most cost effective way to do it. I noticed on the installation guide, there’s an option to do a half-concealed installation, so that about half of the depth is recessed into the wall. Should I pursue this option? Is it worth the extra time, money and trouble?
