I contacted Houzz about this a while back. If I clicked the link in an emailed update to a thread, it would have me in the houzz.com side of the forum and my zone info would not be there. If I used my bookmark to enter in the gardenweb.com side, it would be there. They told me that this was the way it worked. I finally just added it to my name.

Saypoint, it used to work that it posted in GW but not in the Houzz forums, but now it doesn’t add on at all. It has to be in your name or it doesn’t show as far as I can tell. I think when they tried to make GW more similar to Houzz forums for a consistent look and function, that particular function was lost in the GW forums.

FINALLY!!..I dropped part of my user name..the zone and location display the way I wanted..I'll delete my comments about all my problems lol..

Looks good now.

Saypoint..thanks..I didn't realize that I should leave the zone field on advanced settings blank..I appreciate your help..

NHBabs..I just realized that you said in the post to put the zone info on the NAME line just as Saypoint said..this was not one of my best days..tired and in a hurry lol..

NHBabs, I’m still seeing your zone info in parentheses after your name when I’m on the gardenweb side only. Strange.

I only use the Gardenweb side..I see double zone info (one in parentheses) on NHBabs too..mine dropped off when I deleted zone info under advanced settings on Gardenweb..my name and city are long..I wanted to delete any extra letters and characters..

I see zone/location info on all posts in this discussion. I only enter GW through NTP or houseplant forum.

Tiffany, yours is included in your name, do you also see any in parentheses? Iochroma’s is only visible in gardenweb, not in houzz, for me.

I don’t know why it’s a problem, but on three different computers, I cannot see folks’ location unless it is as part of their name. I couldn’t see my own zone either, so I did not initially delete it from my profile on the zone line. Now that I have, do you only see my location once?

I currently cannot see where iochroma is located, only his/her user name.

Yes only once. I left it in both user name and zone info line and that way hopefully no matter what Houzz does it will be visible.

Yes NHBabs, now I only see your zone once. No big deal, you may be logged in on the houzz side instead of gardenweb

NHBabs..I'm on Gardenweb..I see just one zone/location for you in bold type like your name..no info in parentheses..for iochroma I see zone/location in parentheses in a different type than the name..

Thank you Babs. This has puzzled me for a long time. One my profile the nine is visible so I could never understand why it does not show in posts.

I've never been on Houzz, so I have no idea what's going on on that side.

I am one of those who saw location/zone info for anyone who had it specified on their profile....regardless of where on their profile they had the info posted. For whatever reason - my device and browser, how I am signed in, etc. - I never seem to have any issues with any of the periodic Houzz glitches. Thankfully......... :-))

I've had whether or not my zone info was displayed vary from one post to another. And it seemed like there were many times when it didn't display when I first posted but was there later - I haven't done anything to keep track of what, specifically happened in each instance. Point being maybe there has been a delay in most or all instances, and this is what others have been seeing with their posts.

Embo, I used to see information following your profile name. Pugetopolis or something similar, but now there is nothing! Ditto for mine... I had edited and showed westernNC zone 7 but that , too, has disappeared without my having done anything to delete it!

I see locations listed after both your names - Sunset Climate Zone 5, USDA Hardiness Zone 8 for Embothrium and 7a western NC for Carol.

carol..I see what gardengal sees..mine used to look like yours..zone/location in parentheses but I changed it a few days ago..now the zone is part of my name..if you read the comments above it explains what to do if you want to change it..
