Do squirrels eat anemone blanda bulbs? And which crocus?

I know a lot of bulbs I plant are squirrel candy (regular crocus, tulips, puschkinia). I take steps to protect those; red pepper and wire mesh pinned down.

But I bought anemone blanda this year. What about that?

Plus, doesn’t anemone have to be soaked before planting? There is nothing on the package.

Re: crocus: Somebody remind me:

It has been my understanding that species crocus are not attractive to squirrels/chipmunks. Whereas regular crocus are.

I bought 3 types of crocus this year, and they are labeled :

“Romance” Botanical crocus

“Barr’s Purple” Species crocus

“Ruby Giant” Species crocus

I have not heard anything called “botanical crocus” before (seriously: aren’t they ALL botanical?!).

Thank you!
