ADO/Flair 21 Fabric

I am planning to purchase ADO/Flair 21 fabric which is 118" wide. It has a very subtle stripe. My question is may I use the 118" width as my length and purchase additional yardage to achieve appropriate fullness; or am I not thinking straight and would be turning the stripe to run right to left instead of up and down?

I assume you are making drapery with this fabric. Yes, you could go either way, depending on how you want you stripes to run. up and down would be more of a classic look.
