Growing from Seed Annuals Garden

Best yellow marigold

I am trying to decide what variety of large yellow marigold to use next year. I have been using Garland yellow and they are beautiful bloomers but fall over half way through the summer. Don't really know a good way to stake them, as I have so many. Looking for a variety that gets 24-30 inches tall with 3-4 inch yellow blooms. Advice anyone?

Crackerjack? Although mine sometimes need support, they usually have sturdy stems.

Yep, another vote for Crackerjack. Mine didn't flop and looked terrific all season.

Hi Diamond,

I am not a marigold person, but I notice that Cortez is listed at 28 inches tall, which is inside your stated height range.

I also notice that Crackerjack is 4 inches taller, at 32 inches.,

It might be that Cortez needs less staking, but as they say, "your mileage may vary."
