I love the sleek, modern look of this space. It looks so fresh and clean, but perhaps a bit sterile. That can easily be remedied by the addition of just a few accessories, such as a pretty bowl of fruit, a colorful container holding utensils, a dish towel folded on the counter and ready for use. Think vibrant pops of color, but don't overdo it. This is not a kitchen to clutter up; rather, I think its personality comes from the fact that it IS so sleek and clean.

lighting and hardware can be those added elements. You have handle-less cabinets...that leaves lighting. Not much happening with that ceiling fixture. What is your lighting? Under counter task lights? think sconces on left and right of window and a coordinated ceiling fixture.....get some style . If you have a lighting store, have them draw you a plan and show what can be done. It could make a huge difference.

Since your kitchen is white, you could literally pick any color and it would work. What colors do you like? What colors do you use elsewhere in the house?

I would replace the current artwork with a single larger piece with bolder color. The two current pieces don't have much impact when viewed at a distance. I also like Sabrina's ideas for window treatments.

I’d paint the brown accent wall a brighter color. It could be any color that works with your home’s other decor, just a well saturated color. Then tie in a few accessories that you can change on a whim. I’d keep the windows uncovered unless you need privacy.

Seeing those pictures is exactly why I don't do modern. Given that situation, I would "decorate" with kitchen items that continue to lend itself to that look. Examples: a wall of hanging stainless pans, a magnet knife holder on the wall with all of your knives on display. Small, stainless, high end counter top appliances. An industrial looking holder for stainless kitchen tools.
