I wouldn't put a mirror because it would reflect the pantry. You don't want to see the pantry from the living room. Are you going to use the space as a coffee bar?

What was the intended use for that counter when you built or bought the house? Are the suggested coffee or wine bars practical for you? If so, you could put shelves above to store the associated items. Or you could use shelves to store items used for entertaining or seasonal items.

If it were mine, I would go with a piece of art.
