HI -- The only thing I saw at first is .... the lovely chair 's color blends into the wall color making a washed out look . You only need just the chair or just a bigger round table or just a small chest or just a bench ... just single items because it is a small area . They are all nice things but I am not a fan of that wall color .

I don't care for the chair, as it looks like something that just fills the space and it appears cramped. Does anyone ever sit there? I like the round table that Grover suggests.

This elegant console table in acrylic frame and a glass table top that create timeless fashion with ottomans or small bench underneath would infuse personality. Painting your railing black as above would break up the woods and add dimension. A bench in cowhide for seating would be elegant as well. A few inspirations above however make your entryway inviting and purposeful. Happy designing.

A skirted table with a lamp and fresh flowers would be lovely there. It's an awkward space. Don't make it more so with more "geometry".

Looks good but if you want storage, too, you might consider a lamp/table combo w/storage in lieu of your round table with lamp.

Round table looks the best. If you do a chest, I'd do one a bit smaller than the black photo shopped one above. I think a small-ish chair would look OK but the style of the one you have now looks odd. It doesn't look like it's meant for any entryway.

I'm with Grover-the reading nook is awkward and inappropriate to the space. A nice table or chest would be great.
