Putting up address plaque?

I’m trying to affix a heavy custom address sign (made of slate or stone) to our home. The surface is El Dorado faux stone veneer. I tried using stong adhesive glue but the veneer surface too bumpy. Could not get enough contact. Other idea was masonry nails but not sure since it isn’t real stone or brick. Any brainstorms?

    You will need to pre drill holes into the stone veneer and then screw the plaque in. Glue will never be strong enough for that and especially on an uneven surface.
