Love the floor!

I would add panels to your window, to give the room softness.

When you put the rod up, you need to put it higher than the window.

I see you have a jut out on the wall next to the window, I would ignore that and put the rod up without a finial on that side and hang your drapes.

I may also add a shade, but I would do the drapes first and see if you need more,

I am not sure you need an area rug in this room, I would do that last. Drapes, art, accessories and then see if you need more.

Whatever you decide, Post pics as you go along, people love watching the process.

I would start with a piece of art above the buffet then choose drapes in a color from the art and I would advise a larger table too

I've been feeling torn between a Roman shade or just floor to ceiling drapes. Maybe a block out shade with a sheer drape for softness?
I actually had a really nice round jute rug with a black border, but my puppy decided to chew on it. Waiting for her to grow up a bit more before replacing it.
The light is actually a smooth frosted "boob" light, it just looks very florescent in this pic, but I love the chandelier idea. I'm quite keen on those beaded ones, more so than something crystal.
It seems everyone likes the idea of artwork above the server, so I'll definitely look for a piece for there.

njmomma, thanks for the comment! Glad you like the floors - I love the look of would but need the practicality of tiles so I'm happy with the results.
Thanks for the tip about the rod and leaving one finial off - that would look good.
Looks like it's time for some art shopping for above my console. I was also thinking of repainting it - I thrifted it years ago and painted it and changed the knobs out, maybe time for a change again?
