Nope - and never heard about him. Seems like a home based operation in Saint Louis MO, very pleasant website, sells mostly Rob's and LLG plant varieties and supplies.

What I see that a little bit strange - the names on miniatures are off. Not Rob's Astro Zombie but Astro Zombie, Fuddy Daddy instead of Rob's Fuddy Daddy. He gives the AVSA registration numbers - so he definitely knows that they are Rob's.

Good part he carries some of older Rob's and Ma's hybrids that are hard to find.

Strange thing -website states - Our products are supplied by selected vendors. So it is not evident if he talking about dry goods only - or it includes AVs.

Price wise - I was not able to find his shipping costs. Otherwise they a bit higher than if you buy directly from LLG or Violet Barn. May be the shipping is lower.

Anyway - I do not see anything that really bothers me. So if there would be a variety that he carries and I cannot find anywhere else - I would buy from him and make a final decision based on how the plants look like.

Hi All!!! Just out of curiosity I went to the website. Here is what jumped out at me. In the first paragraph of his FAQ section, "If I put something in my Shopping Cart ,,,,,,,,the first line in the answer says "Our products are supplied by selected vendors." I am guessing he doesn't grow much and out sources? He is just a middle man?

The second paragraph says "All of our featured products are sent from our associated vendors." Again, I don't think he is a grower.

They accept returns,,,,,but are not specific about returning violets. Nowhere on their site could I find shipping charges. I like to know things ahead of time. NOT after I fill out an order form. THAT could give me a heart attack! lol

So Aegis, I don't know what you think, but in my opinion,,,,,I would order from someone else. He carries the same violets others do. Just my opinion as always. Rosie

PS If anyone can enlighten me further, please do. But this is just my take.

If I put something in my Shopping Cart, but when I went to Checkout, it was already sold out. What happened?
Our products are supplied by selected vendors. On occasion stock becomes limited or depleted. While we regularly update product availability, there is always the unfortunate moment when we have not received this information prior to your order. We will work with our vendors to determine if the item has been temporarily out of stock or removed from the product line. We well provide you with information as soon as we know.

Why does my order have a strange return address?
All of our featured products are sent from our associated vendors. Most will make the return address theirs to ensure proper return if there are problems or damage during shipment. In you would like to know the vendor's name, send an e-mail to decernms@hotmail.com and we will reply with the vendor's name.

I think I'd feel more comfortable going straight to the source (esp if lower prices obtainable elsewhere). I don't really want to pay a middle man. But no telling.

If you do business with this entity, consider adding an entry to the Garden Watchdog to advise future customers one way or another.

Stay away from Joe's Plant Nook! Fighting to get a refund on an order that I placed, where Sharon Durnell (owner) informed me (1) the product was not available and (2) she was going to issue a refund. A month later, no refund, and she is not answering my emails. Disputing with PayPal right now.

I was curious about this shop and decided to google it. Botched the name and it sent me to another site called Farmer Joe Plants, which coincidentally also sells African violets. I chuckled at the website’s link: theplantwhore.com . The shop is unrelated to Joe’s Plant Nook, but it sells AVs on Etsy and has pretty good reviews there. Thought it was worth mentioning as another option if you’re looking for more places to purchase AVs. Funny the things you find on the internet...

I ordered May 18, 2020 and still have not received the products (Violet Pots). I've emailed and called. My credit card was charged, I feel I've been ripped off.

I haven't received the pot I bought either. I think this is a scam. Also bought a violet plant. My card was charged in both instances but I have never received an email with a date for delivery, as their website tells you. I've contacted them by email twice and haven't received a reply. Will dispute these transactions. I suggest people stay away from this website.

Same here!!! I placed an order (and paid for it) on Aug.29, 2020... it's October 8, 2020, and am still waiting!!! I sent a couple of e-mails to Sharon @ decernms@hotmail.com; she was rude, and upset because I inquired!!! This is my second order, didn't have a problem with the first one. The product is gorgeous, but their customer service and delivery service are absolutely disgraceful!!!

There are different ways to handle this: Report to the Better Business Bureau, add an entry to: Garden Watchdog to advise future customers one way or another; even if you get a refund, they had kept your money for more than 2 months, which is unacceptable!!!

I am thinking the owner is getting old, the shop is not functioning... means... the automatic payment system takes the money - but nobody is there to ship.

Try to call your credit card company. They will hopefully return your money.

I ordered an African violet in a 2 1/2 inch pot. It was wrapped with the leaves down instead of up so 3 of the 4 larger leaves were broken. One if the small leaves is rotting They sent me two free violets and one was DOA. The other one will probably survive. The plants were extremely wet. I Have called them, texted them, and emailed them but they haven’t responded. i would like for them to send me a replacement. I spent 24.50 on this violet and will be disputing it with my bank.

I too ordered an AV received the package 1 month later with a dead violet and 6 leaves the fell out on the floor when the package was unwrapped.

    I want my money back!

And this is why we research our purchases with Garden Watchdog or each other.

The shipping time is painfully long nowadays, so if the plant is not wrapped very tight and insulation is not up to the weather... the damage is unavoidable. Broken leaf or dead leaf - is not the reason to condemn the seller. If the plant is strong and healthy to start with - the loss of 2-3 leaves is not a big deal - and if you would think how the boxes are tumbled during shipping and sorting.. there is no surprise there will be some damage. BUT - seems that the general experience with this seller is not good, so just do not buy from them... If at least some leaves are still alive - try to revive them - wrap them in wet towel overnight - if they rehydrate - there is a good chance you can grow some babies. If we want a healthy large blooming plant for a gift - we can buy Optimara in a big box store. Why we shop elsewhere - is for a specific variety. So makes sense to invest time and TLC trying to coax some life out of whatever house salad we got. While still requesting full or partial refund.
