Planting near citrus without damaging

last modified: 7 years ago

Hi all, hoping someone can guide me with this. I have a smallish tangerine tree in a corner of my yard. I would like to plant a thorness climber, maybe a rose or some non invasive/mannery vine. Yard is small and I have limited options, need some color and interest. Read that citrus has shallow roots and they don't like to be disturbed, is that true? Planting close by is a bad idea?
