If you aren't worried about the cautex, plating cuttings are the way to go they will not fatten up as much as seed grown but they do take on a nice Madagascar boab shape.

I am the same as you: I prune, and then cannot throw them away, so I root them. My rooted ones seem to bloom just before the original plant does. The flower quality seems to be the same.

I would still recommend experimenting with some grafting just for the experience and fun.

Thank you for your comments.. Rooting the cuttings has been super easy so far.. I am happy to learn that they will still look good over time and not look like pathetic sticks planted in a pot.. Next task will be ordering some Amazon grafting tape to expand the experimentation efforts.

Floral tape from a florist works really well as grafting tape!!

Never used grafting tape outside of possibly when I did some "V" grafts, but they can be rather unsightly if not well done.

Use plastic or plastic baggies and rubber bands. Many are even using Super Glue to affix scion to the root stock, then baggy over top to keep humid.
