Can you post a photo of the sofa you bought?

I’d balance the blue with more blue. Because of the low windows, I initially was going to recommend you stick with the SVEN and do matching chairs in blue to compliment the blue hutch….that was until I spotted these chairs on etsy. They are fabulous and not too $$$$.

Add a rug, coffee table and a different chair for the corner. Find a new spot for all the individual wall art and replace with one larger piece.

I was originally going for a lighter rug (maybe black and white) and then realized that it would probably get super dirty with a husky and an 8 year old boy! A darker rug and lighter chairs like these would work great!

I also like the idea of chairs in blue, which would compliment the sofa you've chosen much better than charcoal. Maybe one of the blues in the rug, if you buy it. The site I posted above has a sample size 18" x 18" for $39.20.

That blue piece and the sofa you bought make a great statement, maybe a womb chair in light green might work in terms of colors and style since you’re going for a modern home. When it comes to the rug, something with those colors so they’re all incorporated and not clashing.

Thank you all so much! I'm thinking I might need to start with the rug and pull a chair color from that. Now on to search for a rug! Haha I was going to go light on the rug, but I think I need a dark one like the one Judy posted because we have a dog, an 8 year old and we wear shoes in our house. :)

We agree with blue. Use the built in as your starter point and work around it.
