Would you recommend wallpaper or painting the wall to go with ny idea? For dresser matching nightstands or something different? I am planning to hang a tv with dresser

I was told that my color of wall and bed were clashing. Ao i used the pattern below as inspiration. Ultimately I dont mind doing creams. I just really want to make the crystals stand out. I feel creamy ivory and grey looking amazing together

I think wallpaper would look beautiful and would add interest here. It’s very hard to read color exactly on a monitor screen so I won’t comment on that. Your inspiration fabric is lovely though and I have no problem mixing soft cream and white bedding together! Depending on what you ultimately do as far as wallpaper your bedding choice could change of course but the crystal buttons will look good no matter. I looked on Pier one and they have a silver leaf dresser with a deco look on sale; although quite pretty the reviews say it is very delicate and the finish doesn’t hold up well and the drawers stick!

If your putting a tv over it you may want a dark gray dresser to match the bed . Although I do like the height of the matching dresser from pier 1.

My bed in that picture looks like a dark grey but it’s actually not as dark. Depending on the lighting. The drawer you posted, is that a grey color?

This is the bed set that inspired what I was going for, but my nightstand turned to be a little more silver. Im open to all white or creams with taupes and grey. Overall I want a consistent looks

Oh! You changed your name;)! Ok , I got confused!!! Here’s the thing, if your putting a tv on top you might want to consider how that will look on that glamorous dresser! Yes the one I posted is gray but I wouldn’t shop online for that as you can see the color “ looks” right but probably isn’t!!! Not that it has to match but it may be too blue or too brown .., see we’re I’m going! You want the tone right but it would be fine if it were darker!

Even if I hang the tv and add some decor on the dresser, would it not be a good look?

today I went to look at model homes for some inspo and one of the things I noticed a lot of consoles/credenzas were used in the bedroom over dressers. So perhaps thats another option. Heres an idea

Very pretty fabric although they are not lined and you wanted light control and they aren’t very wide either. I’m not sure were these are hung but in your bedroom it would be nice if they were longer.

They were hung on a master bedroom. I noticed on the website some styles give you the option to do unlined or blackout. I was hoping I could find them online but there not.

This is were I think it’s a good idea to do custom. If you want operational drapes that are going to block out the light and are going to be the right length and width then trying to piece not quite right panels together and have them work right never really well... works right!

I am sorry but I dont think I understood your comment. In terms of blackout I just found out you can buy a panel and hang out it with hooks to add that extra layer for room darkening effect.

Sorry, I usually have my window treatments custom made is what I meant. It really depends if you are going to be opening and closing these panels. If you want them to cover the windows they would have to have enough width to do that and still be able to stack back. I’m not sure how high you plan to hang these or how you are planning to open and close them? Hanging two separate ready made panels next to each other doesn’t always line up perfectly more move the way you would want.

You should investigate Halfpricedrapes.com. They get great reviews on Houzz and blackouts are an option you can build into your search so you don’t have to have separate panels. You should also compare prices for ready made v custom where you will have more fabric options. Do you have a Calico Corners near you?

Good idea Molly. I would rather each panel were the right width than using two . They never hang right and you would end up using eight panels to get this to close right. That’s a lot of fiddling with panels each night to make it look right! It never does. It would be different it they were stationary but they aren’t . You want them to draw easily!

Lets see if I understood correctly, you are suggestion to do 2 panels at each end that are wide enough to close in the night time rather than buying smaller multiple panels?

No, I’m saying you need 8 panels total when your using such narrow panels. There’s no way you can adequately cover your windows at night with 48” width panels!

Got it. You know I never really liked the set up you drew but now that I have a visual of how it actually looks, I really like it!

If you search for double wide (100”) drapes you use 4 pairs total and can easily close them.

It depends, it’s nice to be able to bring them all the way up but if your windows are a bit squat it leaves a lot of empty wall above them. Not everyone minds this of course as you can see in this pic.

If the space is so great I like to fill it by hanging the Roman shade or other type shade high to fill that gap and give the illusion of a very tall window.

There are other ways of course; in this room I did the windows were different heights and the ceilings very tall. It wouldn’t have made sense to bring them all the way up. To level them all up we did very deep valance’s.

If the gap above the window bothers you and you don’t want to add custom blinds then you can lower the drapes a bit. This may help also when trying to by ready mades but don’t go too low! You don’t want a too short look and have a very squat look. I think taller is better!

Yes I thought about doing an in between. Not too high and too low. I really like those geometric pattern curtains on one of the pics you posted.

Also i would like to use clips for the curtains. I like the look of it, so that does drop the curtains a little more
