Volkmann's Merry Christmas - another beauty I have. A very good bloomer! Four flowers on each bloom stalk. After I took the photos I removed the blooms and the old leaves and the small leaves on the first and second rows to save energy to grow more fresh leaves. When I removed the blooms I found that there are more coming, but I had to remove then too. The last photo is of the plant after all procedures. It's a subject for removing more leaves later to form a perfect foliage. I forgot to mention that it's a compact type - very good when we all don't have enough space on the shelves. Enjoy!

Nice plant with very pretty flowers! I love the colors and the light frill around the petals.

I hope you use the leaves for propagation. What do you do with the flowers and blooms after removing them ? I would't be able to put it in the garbage can... so sad

Thank you! It's not sad, it's good for the plant. It will grow better foliage. It took a long time for me to learn how to break the leaves and not put them all down. Yes, it's unpleasant to trow away the blooms, but we have to do this. You know we don't let to bloom the plants for the whole year if we want represent them at the show.

Actually Canada is not that far from Columbus :-)

I am selling on e-Bay, but not leaves. I am not sure I will have this type plants for sale the next season. Sorry!

I have several Volkmann hybrids in my collection - Handel, Geneva Wonder and couple more. This one - I got from Polina. These guys are 40-50 years old - and they survived for a reason. Tough!!!!
