Wolf AG Oven Re-Ignition/Pre-Heating Question

Hi. Any Wolf AG Range users out there that can help provide some insight on an ongoing issue/annoyance? Our Wolf GR366, which is new, re-ignites the gas in the oven every 5 minutes after pre-heating to the desired temperature. So literally every 5 minutes (ive timed it) after the temperature is reached the pre-heat light goes back on and it's 'click-click-click-click-poof. It then pre-heats again for about :60, the light goes off and then four minutes later the cycle begins again.

I understand that the stove must reignite from time to time to maintain the temperature, but this seems excessive and is quite annoying to hear 12 times during an hour of baking. Does everyone else with a gas Wolf oven (or other ranges) experience this? Is it something that I'll just need to get used too?

I did call Wolf and the rep said it was normal for it to relight every so often, but every 5 minutes seemed too often. She thought it might be a safety feature where excess gas is detected and it's re-lighting it to burn it off so it does not build up. They suggested I have an approved tech come out. I did and he told me it was absolutely normal for it to re-ignite this often to maintain consistent temperature. Said the range had no issues and there was nothing more he could do.

Call again, and ask to speak to a senior tech advisor or something like that, supervisor, higher tier, etc. if your range is under warranty, and even if it is, explain that this is an ongoing issue, and while you understand that your oven will relight at times during use, every 4-5 minutes is excessive (mention that this was confirmed when you spoke with the rep during a previous call to them). Ask if they can arrange to have someone come out to check out and correct the situation.

Yes, my Wolf oven after it preheats and I have it on clicks 3 to 4 times then nothing and then it will relight or it will click 3 times and give a poof I called the technician and he came out and adjusted the vent inside the oven, but now it seems worse. I'm having them come out again. I don't think it is normal.

Did anyone find a solution to this or confirm that it is normal? I am using my brand new range and noticing the same thing.

Mine re-lights about every 2.5 minutes and we clearly hear the ignition and extinguishing WOOOOFFF,,,,,, extremely annoying. It has been installed for a little over 2 months and the tech rep has been at our place twice now and both times has not been interested in sticking around to experience this behaviour. On the second visit he changed the burner claiming they were badly pierced and the new one would solve everything.... It did not. I am not in contact with a Wolf Customer Advocate Team who seems quite eager to help but he is in Wisconsin and I am in Montreal......More to follow

I would like to add I've been told this loud ignition/extinguishing is normal by the technician. I've also been told the same by Wolf Customer Support. I dont doubt for a minute this behaviour can be normal if itheir unit is designed to do that which I doubt, but there is no way a high end gas range can be considered operating normally when it is extremely annoying and keeps disturbing the whole house...

I’ve had my Wolf all gas (propane) now going on 20 years. It’s a 48” with two ovens. It’s been doing that the whole time. The gasket on a gas oven is not the tight seal that you get with an electric oven. I understand that to many owners the constant cycling on and off could be an annoyance. I at one time bought an oven thermometer just to see how accurate my oven temp was. For 20 years now those two ovens have been spot on for accuracy. From what I was told you can’t have a tight seal on a gas oven, so it has to cycle on and off for temperature accuracy. I had to replace the burner in the larger oven once after 18 years of hard work. Took me about an hour to do it, my hands took 3 days to get clean again.

After a great deal of back and forth emails and phone calls with Wolf Customer Support, the Technician showed up again,,,, for the third time. This time he took the time to really listen to me instead of trying to convince me the range was acting normal. To make a long story short, after a fuel nozzle change and an air mixture adjustment I can say my Wolf oven is quite a bit tamer than before. The difference is like night and day......

Hello, I know this is an old thread, but was curious if anyone continues to have this issue or if @HU-615342731 your issue is still working fine? our spark igniter reignites every 2 minutes or so, wondering if it is just something I need to get used to.
