I think a console is best assuming you have a flat screen tv. If you are mounting the tv you need to decide if you prefer a lower console for seated tv watching or a little higher for lounging tv watching and viewability from a nearby kitchen or eating area. RH was some nice consoles that are available in varying widths. Usually with a large tv the console looks best when there is a foot or two on either side of the tv. If you have the space 90" wide and about 33" tall would look great. Don't know your style, but something like this.

Get a cabinet that is low enough to wall mount the TV so that the center of the screen is at eyelevel when you are seated. If you need more storage or display area you could check out Besta from Ikea it has the ability to look like custom with some arranging of components and looks nothing like the old entertainment centers.These are just some ideas
