I’d go with #1, put them in the garage. I have 100+ potted roses in attached unheated garages every winter, I water them once a month. Last year I had potted persimmon, jujube trees in the garage with the roses. Just remember to water them, don’t let them dry out.

If you can dig your soil (not frozen), I'd go ahead and plant them. They 'store' best in the ground :-)

Yes if you are zone 7 or higher sh be safe to plant now in ground

Due to personal issues, I am unable to plant them in the ground at this time. That's why I stated the above options.

The ground is already partially frozen here and after this weekend we could see that it is completely frozen.

vgkg - I have thought about 'heeling' them in, but not sure that I will be able to accomplish this before the ground is completely frozen. Looks like you may be getting a winter storm this weekend.

Yes, snow, maybe 1 inch or 1 ft, always on the line down here. Soil here isn't frozen yet but muddy. Heading for the 2nd wettest year on record, probably similar there I'm guessing.

I just heeled in 3 potted cherry trees yesterday. I am in zone 6 (PA) and the soil is not frozen yet.
