I am a huge gray fan, it’s all over my house, and my contractor talked me out of gray cabinets in favor of white for this very reason...very hard to find a gray that looks amazing. He did tell me if I had my heart set then just do an island. I stuck with all white, then did a grayish quartz and dark gray glass backsplash. So happy I listened to him! I was going crazy trying to find a gray that looked good on that many cabinets.

The color has an undertone, lighting from inside the home influences (how warm or cold it is), color that reflects from outside into your home also can influence. In my last home I liked a beige during the day but night it went wrong and so I tried more cool lightbulb color which helped.

So gray has either blue , purple, or green. I have seen all of them and painted with all at sometime either on a wall or furniture. I had blue gray in a bathroom which I liked. Purple gray feels - odd - to me. And then green gray. It looks more like the one in nature and she considers that the most "neutral" and I agree. It can work well with some beige colors too.
