[Advice needed] Flooring options

My place has dark hardwood throughout, except for the 2 bedrooms that have a hideous carpet.

I want to replace the carpet for (maybe) wood floor but Im on a dilemma on colors/style. See, my place is dark - doesn't have much light, and the hardwood that's currently everywhere is quite dark. Should i try to match the wood for the rooms with the existing one, or just go with a totally different color to avoid it looking weird/off (because I'll never be able to find a 100% exact match to my current wood).

Option B, going with a totally different type of floor that's not wood. Not sure what could be a good option! HELP PLEASE :)

Here's a pic of the current wood color just in case it sparks an idea/recommendation.

I have similar wood floor, but like carpet in the bedroom. I went with a carpet like this that had multiple colors. (Mine is lighter, this is just an example). If you want wood, maybe you can find a lighter one with some dark elements.

I like that carpet posted above. why don't you just switch to a diff carpet?

the prob w/doing a lighter wood, is just what you see. two completely diff wood floors.

as for matching what you have, I don't think it will be that difficult to find something very close. If you want wood, then I'd try and find the best possible match (any spare planks laying around ? take those to the flooring store). then you could do a nice area rug around the bed.

How about whitewashed hardwood floors? Would tie in really nicely with your doors and trim and wouldn't be bringing a third color in. And would be nice and bright.

the light one (sample) is bamboo. my current one im not sure what it is. I definitely dont like carpets... what could I do to really make it look good? trying to get the same shade im afraid will jump to the sight. Im very OCD and not sure i could deal with it... then if the shade is too different it also make the sight compartmentalized and not 'flowy'.
