When it is ready, the seam on the pod will weaken and the pod will open. I always at least wait until the seam is browning before I do anything. You should just protect the pod and wait in most instances.

Not ready yet the brown spot is where something has bit it look for some type of bug can’t really tell what happened to it just watch the brown spot winter time seeds take a long time to mature but let it split open on its own just wrap some bread twists around it so won’t open up and let the seeds fall out

One easy method for making sure a pod doesn't split and send its cargo of wind borne seeds off when you aren't looking is to make a loose "bag" out of a single layer of cheese cloth. A wire twist tie can be used to secure/tie-off the "bag". The cloth would be very breathable so as not to encourage molds but still prevent seeds from scattering all over.

yep, I have a spool of metal wire I use to wrap around them to sort of prevent them from fully opening when needed. This one is inside and monitored often so no need for that. But thanks.

So what color(s) were the parents' flowers?

The one the pod is on is a reddish. Not sure where the other pollen came from. They are all pink of sorts. Im not a big fan of the newer double and colored flowers. This is the pod carrier.

I have few desert roses and last Christmas, I decided to hand pollinate and I think I got one to start getting pod.

Wondering how long seed pod to mature? my plumeria takes about a year to pop.

Hi Kawagoe most of the time it’s about 90days but sometimes in the winter it may take a little longer show photos

Kind of hard to see but I think that is just an old flowering site. See some of my above pics. While they start small you will have one pod on each side of the branch. See above pics or even yahoo some pics. Closer pic from another angle would tell for sure.

Here is a pic from top. It seems only one wing is developing. I get similar seeds pod on my Plumeria also.

Looks like it’s just going to develop just one pod witch is common but it could go ahead and develop the other side I’ve had them make as many as 3 pods but only two made seeds keep us posted on it as it develops
