Adenium with strange roots

While re-potting one of my plants, I found these two-toned roots.. Brown (firm; not soft at all) and the usual cream color.. Anyone have an idea why this happened?.

Marica, the plant is perfectly fine as far as I can tell.. I repotted it and it seems to be growing normally.. Thank you so much for asking..

Cannot say that I have seen this before? It seems that the tissue beneath the dark colored areas is not necessarily that healthy of tissue. I would be concern that it may travel up into the caudex. Will not be as noticeable if it does, as it will not show through the green color of caudex.

I imagine you should monitor this plants health and what/is the upper growth of leaves and stem like? Definitely one to keep an eye on.

Yes, I see rot I think. Notice all the fresh looking roots are on the other main root.

sorry to say but that is a "goner" ? definitely sick looking brown prong? I would cut it off before it contaminates rest of the plant?

how did it turn out? Its important to keep everyone updated so we can learn what and how something happened. When I am researching an issue I see way to many threads with the same question but no answer as to what worked. Just like to see if it ended up being rot or if its fine? Any updates?
