Hi everyone. I'd like to change my master bedroom bench for something bigger, I saw this one online, but not sure if I should choose one with colors or just white or gray? Any suggestions please?

Here are photos of my mater bedroom:

The current bench is much too small, but do you actually need anything at the foot of the bed? If not, and it's more to make a design statement, I'd suggest you rethink it. I like the bench you're considering, but it's going to make your room look cluttered and detract from the clean lines of the bed.

Do you really need the bench? I think the room looks much more open without it.

As for the color of it thats really up to you. I'm not sure the organic paisley pattern goes with the geometric pattern of the rug, so I lean more towards a solid color.

Not to hijack but I also wonder why everyone seems to now place a bench at the foot of their bed? Why has it become as ubiquitous design elements as bedside tables. I understand the functionality of bedside tables but I am not understanding a bench.

I don't spend time sitting in front of the bed and I have more comfortable bedroom seating.

Hi everyone, honestly, I don't really use it, its more to fill in the empty space and make the room cozy, without it, the room looks pretty much empty, here a photo without the bench

I think you should try to retrain your eye to appreciate "negative" space. Seeing the room from the angle in the last picture posted, that bench will definitely force a crowded and cluttered feel, which is not a good thing. The eye needs empty space in which to "rest", and it's important not to fill that space with needless things.

@IdaClaire is right about how having space is relaxing - especially since you already have nice design elements for the eye to appreciate in that room.

I am just finishing up a gut remodel and I so appreciate all the open space I know have. I came from a place where I had just crammed everything in - I look around my bedroom (for example) and just can't imagine how I existed with all that excess stuff.

I live in a high rise and my neighbor who lives in a unit with the same layout came up. There was an empty small corner next to my bedroom door and she asked whether I was going to put some storage there and I just laughed. Her place is absolutely stuffed to the gizzards with crap and furniture. She is 81 and is storing clothing from 40 years ago - dishes she doesn't use etc. And for what? For her son to hire a trash expert to dispose of within the decade.

I think a perfect choice would be blue velvet storage ottoman. To match ur throw. Do nonot get the pattern its young and not as nice as ur stunning bedroom. ADD BLUE VELVET U NEED COLOR. GET A LOVE SEAT OR A SETTEE. OR THE LANCE OR BLUE VELVET NAVY STORAGE OTTAMAN WITH STUDS IS PERFECT FOR YOU. DO A SEARCH THEY HAVE IT. IT'S 260$ or on wayfawayfair.
