As Patricia points out, we need photos. When man-made floating planks start to separate (I'm assuming that's what you mean by "split") there are usually two reasons: 1. Installation error (not snapped together properly) and 2. Installation error because the runs are too long for the product to hold itself together.

Subfloor issues are also a concern. The fact that your subfloor "needed work" is a big red flag. This red flag says "household concerns that the INSTALLER did not recognise/change to ensure proper installation". Normally this is done because the subfloor preparation was not paid for/discussed at the time of the quote.

There are a few other reasons, but they are "minor" in comparison to the two BIG issues above. Warping is a different animal which normally has to do with the house itself (too hot, too cold, UV exposure by windows, etc). These things can make vinyl floors act in a weird way.

Without photos, we have very little to go on. And while you are figuring out how to load photos, please take some humidity and temperature measurements in your home. You can check the expansion gaps at the walls and check to see if transition strips were used in ALL the doorways. And if you are in a really curious mood, feel free to measure the LONGEST run of uninterrupted flooring. That is a continuous length of vinyl that is together without a transition strip.

And feel free to list the installation instructions for your floor. It is a great read - especially when you compare it to what happened in your home. Often times you can figure out what when wrong simply by comparing what WAS done vs what SHOULD have been done. These two things are often MILES apart.

Terrible material. The locking joints pop, creak, and break as you walk on the floor, which means there is movement, and it takes very little movement to break the locking mechanism of this all too brittle material. You can try to patch or flatten the sub floor before the install, but that takes extra $, and you'll never achieve perfect flatness, so use a different product. NuCore comes apart. While I was installing a transition piece between a hallway and a bathroom, I broke 4 pieces to get the one piece installed. With other flooring that has some flex, that would have been no problem. NuCore is indeed very hard, but that means it is very brittle. Thinness is a brittle material's weakness. Do not buy NuCore.

I have the same issue with end joing creak and pop right after installation even my subfloor is leveled. My mistake i guess is to put 3mm underlayment (quiet walk) and customer service rejected my claim. Do i stand a chance, i can be part of the case if i stand a chance.

Yes Usmam you can call this lawyer and be added to our list. Matt Metzger 513-488-1135 I used the underlayment and they still rejected my ckaim. The flooring is defective. The more of us out there the better off to start a class action lawsuit.

Not happy with my floor, have all those issues above. Locking mechanism breaking in multipal places, the cracking and squeaking sounds. how do i open a claim, do i go to floor and decor first?

We just had a beautiful brand new custom home built ahd paid alot of $ for this flooring. We had the entire hiuse done with this stuff and are experiencing everything everyone is talking about here. i am heartbroken we were sold a costly product that is absolutely horrible . i have cobtacted the lawyer to join the lawsuit and urge others to do the same .

It’s very difficult to get Floor&Decor to admit to anything. Biggest crap store. BBB rating F. Have to be either famous or someone who has a large following on the internet to compalain, then they will notice.

In July 2024 we installed 8K worth of LVP from Floor & Decor and already in November we are having all the same problems stated above. We are also having the same issues with the warranty claim.

I did call the attorney's office stated above ( Matt Metzger 513-488-1135) but, there is no lawsuit going on at the moment. The attorney's office stated they are still "Gathering Information" and they have been gathering information for the last 2 years. They took my information and said that if they do file a case I would be added to it.

We too purchased NuCore flooring at Floor and Decor. Before purchasing I told the salesman of my needs such as we have dogs, live in Florida etc. He reccommended the NuCore Performance flooring. One year later we felt the flooring starting to lift and make noises. In the second year our kitchen floor is cupping, cracking,and has disengaged planks. This is a horrible, unsighly site. I have just placed a phone call to the attorny metioned above. Floor and decor blamed the floor problems on the installer. Yet all my concers are like everyone elses. How can this be?

Please advise if the class action lawsuit is still in the works. It seems as if the plants are cupping in my basement and I am not sure what is causing it since it was installed correctly and was great for the first two years.

We are having all the same issues as above. Just 1 year after installment it is cracking, popping and cupping. Just heard back from Floor and Decor and they say it is an installation problem. But after hearing all your complaints - I agree it is a manufacturing error. I will call the lawyer in the morning to get added to the list but we have a floor detective coming over this week to inspect at $550! We had cheap Pergo that lasted 25 year with NO PROBLEMS. What else can we do?
