My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Guild 2019 Raffle Quilt

So I volunteered to be the chairman of our Raffle Quilt next year for my local (Burlington NC) guild. We laid it out this past Saturday...all 421 pieces, log cabin blocks, flying geese blocks, and square-in-a-square blocks. Then we started sewing everything together using this picture to keep up straight as to what goes where. I have found one mistake, but I reserve the right to make an ”executive decision” when I get back the adjoining row. The geese at the end of the last row were switched with something else somehow, but it might not matter one bit. I’ll just have to wait and see.

    Well, the raffle quilt construction finished yesterday......Woot, woot! And I’m on my schedule I set for this project. Next week I hope to take it to the long arm quilter for her to work her magic. My friend on our committee and I had to unsew two cabin blocks and rotate them, but that wasn’t a major correction. The cabin blocks have their own orientation and the geese fly in a certain formation. But then we had to be concerned about the color placement of the geese - so you can see it was not a simple quilt to make. What amazed me was that all 5 of us working on it were so accurate with our 1/4-inch seams that the blocks went together quite easily.
