We have a dark hardwood in our foyer. Currently, we have carpet going up the steps and carpet in the upper level. We would like to get hardwood/laminate upstairs, but would like a lighter wood. How do we transition the stairs? I don’t think we will be able to match the current dark wood that is already in the foyer. Can we keep carpet on the stairs only? Is there something completely different that we can do? Help!
