Ceiling fixture help

I need some recommendations for a ceiling fixture to go over our family room sofa. It needs to give off a decent amount of light as it will be the main source of light. Our ceilings are low, a little over 7 ft. The room has dark furnishings, black leather, grey curtains, white walls. No pictures at the moment.

while an overhead light is nice, it's also advisable to have end tables w/table lamps. Or tall floor lamps. do you have any?

with the ceiling lights, you want a flush or semi flush mount, with at least 3 bulbs with regular wattage. 75-100 for each one would be perfect

watch out for the 'diffuser' glass cover. it really dims the light. these usually come with 2-60w bulbs, and it's not enough light. so find something with higher wattage.

which gold light? The last one is a flush mount pinwheel modern light. they come in black too

the other one is a semi flush ceiling light.

Beth do you think that the Minka will give off enough light with the cover? Also my drapery rods are silver do you think I should stay with silver?

This room has been challenging due to the small size as well as the furnishings I need to keep at the moment. I have brought so many drapes back and forth as no color seems to look good.

Can you answer whether you have floor or table lamps? It really helps to have more lighting options.

How about something like this — I would try and find a fixture that’s at least 3-bulb:

Also, have you tried plain white drapes? I’d think if you’re trying to lighten up your room that would be ther first stop.

Dear Ellie You can also looking for some ceiling lamp, we have some big one with 6 lights, on wich you can put Led bulbs of 3 or 4 wat that have the same power of lighting of the old bulbs of 40 wats.

But I suggest you to tknig about some big wall sconce/applique pof floor lamp with multiple lights/bulbs

ohmylord...I guess looking at OPs decor, and suggestions of appropriate light fixtures, isn't a thing for some people.

ellie, it all depends on the bulb wattage. if you have enough wattage, a diffuser will be ok. I think I mentioned all this above.

as for the gold/silver, you could get the light in the nickel, or even an ORB if you don't want the gold. It's fine to mix metals though.

consider a side table with a taller table lamp (the one you have to the right of the sofa is too small) for additional lighting.
