You can keep the harvested compost i.e. a RM bin with corr. cardboard lining the bottom. If your compost is crumbly, meaning: not very damp, you can spritz the CCB some, before you dump the compost onto it and keep it above freezing. If you like, you can place some worm food & shredded paper in garlic netting in the bottom corners. You might find worms concentrating in the nets and there will be many more through out. Prevent drying out.

You are sure they are baby red worms, not pot worms, right?

I kept my harvested compost for a month or so in a different container, keeping it damp just like the original container with some food in a corner. I would go through the bin before dumping out and retrieve anyone I could see. I figured it was enough time to hatch and get bigger in the right conditions but too soon to mate and make more eggs. I love the net idea. I'm going to try that!
