I sorta like the table you have....can you soften it with a pretty low plant and a skinny lamp or a candle? Please lower the mirror also...that will make a lot of difference. Looks disconnected. I would say lower it to about three inches above the table.

I don't think the table looks too heavy but it is positioned where the door could hit it. Almost anything you put there is going to block the door

The chrome and glass is not a good match with the mirror.

I'd like to see if the table could move to another location along the mirror. That's why more pictures are needed.

Your mirror frame is goldish and console is chrome. Make decision what color you want ...yellow or white.

I do not like that table at all, it’s too big for the area and sticks out too much, I do like the chrome table and think it will work well there but not with the gold mirror.

Slim in depth. I’m not a huge fan of the mirror or table but if you love the mirror (which should be lowered) then something like this might work

I don't think the mirror and table coordinate, nor do they compliment your wall and floor colors. I'd encourage you to look for something else for the wall. Although the slim tables that others have posted look nice, I think any table that close to your entrance is going to be problematic. Good luck.

The mirror looked great in our old house and I would like to try to make it work if I can. The mirror is hand carved wood which was gold leaf but I painted it with a glaze to tone it down. It does have some meaning to my husband and I. The doors open to the outside and there is a screened area(we live in Sarasota FL). The living room is in grays with a tan, light grey rug. I appreciate everyone’s suggestions and comments.

Without knowing your "style" or size of space, I think I'd go something white and gold like this. I think having a gold mirror with an all gold console doesn't give enough visual interest. I'm trying to figure out with your current piece if the height is short for that space or if the mirror is too high or a combination of both as something seems off. Either way, the piece you have there isn't working and isn't working with the mirror.

Anything you put there will interfere with and crowd the door. I think a tall piece of art or sculptural hanging would be more visually pleasing.

Wow, Susie, you're right about the hinges but have you ever seen entry doors that open out? It would be interesting to know.

As noted, there isn't enough clearance for the door with the console there. Is there another wall in you entry for a console? If so, I'd be looking for something rather simple that allows the mirror to shine.

Repeating golden honey tones in accessories and area rug wood support the mirror and be a good introduction to the tan accents in you living area.

Leelee, now that you mention it, I never have put anything behind an entrance door, but since someone pointed out that it opens out, it may be a patio door. Not every wall needs decor anyway. If this was my home, I’d probably leave that wall blank.

Typically, it's good to have path ways clear from/to entries/doors. I now see that it is a double out swing. Even so, a console there suggests that the path is not fully accessible. Maybe in real life it's fine, but from my monitor it looks as though the flow is interrupted, which leaves me kind of subconsciously scratching my head in uncertainty.

Hi Bobbie, I too live in Sarasota. Congratulations on your new home! I like the style of your console but it is a bit bulky. I do love the mirror though and think it looks beautiful against the lovely blue on your walls! I have double doors like these and the right side is never used! It does open when we unbolt it to move large items but that’s very rare. The atrium door to my screened lanai open out ; so for those concerned about that , these may be the case here. I’m not sure how wide this space is but here are a couple options. You need to drop the mirror down, I do think you need a console with some heft to it to balance that mirror! Maybe just not so deep and not quite so hefty! These are from Chelsea house.

This is too large and very$$$ but something that looks like this( style wise) really suits your mirror. A Demi lune in black with gold accents that has some weight to it but is up on legs to give it a bit of an airy look too!

I like the mirror. It's unique and way cool. Just needs the right table. I think lynartist's demilune is on the right track.

No table. It impedes on the space both visually and functionally.

And for those who want no table...

Here is another option I have used in a situation very similar to yours. This is a low profile Demi lune from Cyan designs with a black marble top and gold leaf base. It is meant to sit on the floor but I actually had it mounted right to the wall. That way it was a bit higher and didn’t take up floor space.

You don’t need a mirror there since it is not a front door. Maybe use it in your hallway outside your master bedroom.

You may never use the right-side entry door until you move or have something very large delivered. Even if that is true, a table or console which looks like it will be hit by the door looks odd. Your little table is interesting but looks too small in scale with your two large entry doors. I would replace it with a much narrower-but-wider simple hall table and a piece of art. If you can’t find a skinny table, maybe you should just hang a larger piece of art there and forget the table idea.

Back to the topic at hand:

Personally I would recommend to avoid metal. It's very trendy and hard to keep shiny everyday. It seems your houses is go with dark color furniture. what about this?

So in Florida, code dictates that front doors open out so hurricane winds don't compromise entry doors by blowing in. That double door opening is 3 feet on each side so placing furniture at the entry doesn't create any issues.

• IMO the table height should match the door handle height.
• IMO the gold diamond shaped mirror seems too small for the wall.
• I would select a coastal style section for the items, and something that contrasts the 'Baby Blue' that has already been selected.
• The oyster shell mirror and faux stone table could work for the area.

Other styles in white could also work.

I’m thinking this foyer is larger than it looks from the angle we have been given here. As Beverly noted these are large doors. Oddly my doors open in ! Regardless, the OP has stated they love this mirror; it is very lovely! I do agree. Here are a few very shallow consoles that might work. I don’t think this looks like a beach house so these are more traditional to go with the mirror. The Hooker cabinet has silver fixtures but some gold leafing can fix that if the size and style is right. The Chinese console comes in two sizes; the small is only 10” deep.
