Think about things you may want in the future. Even if it's a just kinda maybe, it's nice to have the infrastructure in place:

• low voltage landscape lighting - you need one plug for each transformer. BTW, companies like Prime Patio make low voltage Edison string lights (party lights). The nice thing about those is you can cut them to the exact length you need. You could theoretically handle all your outdoor lighting AND party lights w/ one outlet
• water feature - we like a dedicated circuit for the pump and UV filter, even on small fountains (it's just a best practice)
• cooking - some grills need a dedicated outlet for a rotisserie, and some need it for the ignition
• cold stuff - dedicated circuit for fridge and/or icemaker

No matter what, I would recommend no fewer than 2-3 GFCI outlets for a backyard space if you're upgrading electrical. I always like one just out of sight - usually by the A/C units - to power ugly stuff like lighting transformers.

You can also talk to your electrician about dedicating a couple circuits in the panel and doing a stub-out to the backyard so you can wait to determine final outlet placement until you actually know what you want.
