Entryway relooking

Hello all,

Try to have a nice looking and well optimized entry to the house. Picture 1 shows the new design I have put in place and picture 2 shows the old show rack that I used to have and doesn’t match at all the style on the right . Should i paint it the same color as the side board ? Should I remove it?
Any advices ?
Thanks

I'm not certain what's 'before' and what's 'after' but I see a balance of dark: shoe storage, dark tile border, dark art frame.... is that ok?

    Thanks for your message!
In fact all is after :) question is the shoe rack ok with the style or not? And what touch to add to make the space better ?
    Thanks

Remove the shoe rack. It's bulky and dull.

Thanks for the feedback! Removing the show rack is an option but not convenient:( should I paint it the same color as the other table and change the handles ? Or maybe keep the tall part of it as it comes in 2 parts ( the tall and short one)

So it came in sections for a practical use - it seems off to the side from front door - imo, it's up to you.

If you need the functionality, it seems ok. Doesn't need to "match" the console table, just coordinate, and the art sort of bridges the gap. Funny to have the console with nothing over it, but maybe a tall lamp will hold the wall...

Lovely fun art. Are you sure you need the shiny metal console? is it a very large area -- if not, might be a squeeze, considering other elements there... I looked again, and seems to "take away" from your art, with all the characters and music. Consider the floor change, and tile border, which add "eye action" I'll call it.

Thank you all for your helpful comments and advices!
I will consider the lamp on the console, it doesn’t come squeezed as the space is large ( will share a picture from the front door ).
For the floor, maybe a carpet there? But not sure which style ? Color?
For the shoe rack, what if I paint It in white ?

With regarding to the elements taking away from the painting... what’s your reco?

Have to see more of the area.... might be helpful to know the measurement from front door to the "mark" of the farthest dark border... how do you want the 'border' to appear [or not show]?

Sure will take measure and send
Do you think this cabinet ( picture 2) will fit better instead of the console ( picture 1)?

If you need the functionality of the shoe rack maybe consider a low bench with either storage underneath or baskets for shoes. The piece you have is a bit bulky with all of the different parts and it distracts from the awesome artwork. The black color is fine since it matches the frame of the art. I agree it would be nice to put something tall on the console and maybe a small mirror over it.

No photo yet! Probably don't need any table, and not the larger one.

Does the chrome tie in with stairs or any element ?

[doesn't have to I guess, but so far I don't see it adding enough]

The space with the staircase in silver

Storage like that shouldn't stand out, so dark / contrasting with everything. Yes, another place or a unit that blends.

I'm wondering why not a semi-flush wider ceiling light.

Something… But wider / different. I like how this 'teams with' staircase, yet is classic drum.
