I like version A because 1) you have fewer doors and thus more wall space in the room...and 2) the bed will be facing a wall rather than the bathroom door.

A. More closet space. Consolidated plumbing wok with two baths backing up to one another (s/b cheaper). Could even expand master into that closet.

@hermothersdaughter M: thanks, but did you mean option B? You referenced the back-to-back bathrooms, which yes, would be cheaper. Re: budget, the skylight in option B is an existing one, whereas we would close it up and add one in the master bath (probably would not add the hallway skylight in the drawing) for option A. All that said, I don't think option A would be prohibitively more expensive.

Sorry, yes, I did mean B. If you can incorporate that second closet into the master bath, you have flexibility to move the door so that it is not directly across from the bed.

Can anyone offer feedback about the ballpark price difference we might be looking at if we go with option A, meaning the two bathrooms would not share a plumbing wall, and the master would not be stacked over the first floor bath? I strongly prefer this option because of the cleaner look of the bedroom (including not looking into the bathroom from bed), but have no idea if it would be coat prohibitive, and we don't have a plumber yet.
