Need help: spa bath floor

I've been renovating the 1957 ranch house I grew up in, and this is my latest dilemma. I want this bathroom to be serene & tropical (note the tub surround & wall). I ordered a sage green slate for the floor & this is what they installed. Turns out the room doesn't have enough natural light either & makes things appear darker than they are. I'm looking at ripping out the slate, but I need suggestions for what I could install on the floor. (The slate is nice, but doesn't go with the peaceful tropical spa theme.) Thank you for your opinions!
PS The jacuzzi tub & sink will be white, vanity is dark cherry wood, & the fixtures will be brushed nickel.

Have you considered installing a sun tube to bring in more natural light?

The 14" SolaTube is wonderful, it's like there is a fluorescent light on all day, and you can opt for LED light kit for lighting at night.

It is not just a matter of light--the color and texture of the slate do not work with the sleek tiles !!! Your wall and tub surround tiles are sleek and your floor rustic.
You might try the will mosaic tile on the floor if it is not too slippery, if not use that as your choice of color.

I would select a solid creamy colored porcelain tile in a 12 x 24 size. I've used American Olean St. Germain Creme and think it would probably work well for you. It should help give you the serene bathroom you are wanting. Try Sherwin-Williams Silvermist for the wall color.

Nice light paint on the walls. I suggest a creamy neutral. Add some tall plants that love humidity.

Thanks everyone! I'm installing a solar tube just outside that bathroom & the bathroom door has an opaque glass center. The walls will be painted Springtime Rain by Dunn Edwards (a very pale cool blue). I brought in a grey/green limestone tile (too dark) & several cream porcelain tiles (too light). I'm thinking I need to wait until the tube is installed. I'll definitely post a pic once it's finished!

Why are you putting the solar tube outside the bathroom? I thought you wanted more light IN the bathroom?

Nancy, this bathroom is located at the end of a galley kitchen. The kitchen is dark in that corner (worse than the bathroom), so I'm putting a solar tube there, just outside the bathroom door. If it were up to me, & money wasn't an issue, every room would get one.

Maybe a teak-style tile floor would work? It would give the spa vibe and keep it from being too matchy or having too many patterns.
