In my mind, it is what it is. A hallway. I wouldn’t do any more than what you’ve got - artwork. Unless you want to replace the cat food station with a little table. Or maybe a medium size plant. Sorry, I know that's probably not what you were looking for, but I don’t really see many decor opportunities here without making the space feel constricted or cluttered. Of course, it goes without saying that my advice is worth what you’ve paid for it. ;)

How would you describe your style? What colors or patterns do you like? Is there a certain era, vibe, look, or feeling you want to create?

It a new light fixture, mirror or painting or tiny table at the end of the hall, and a full length runner, you can make this space look very different.

I would remove that floor rug. Remove the pet dishes. Remove the mirror and little picture on the side wall. Then get some sort of entry table for the "focal" wall as you walk in, then hang a piece of art over it, put a lamp on it, and you're good. I would upgrade the lighting fixture to something a little more interesting.

I would get a full length mirror for the end of the entrance( ceiling to floor and whole width of that area) or have an entire piece of mirror cut to fit. I would then purchase a small end table to put there as the focal point with a large urn or other piece to sit on the end table. I would move the cat litter box where it is not seen. I would change the light fixture to a type of chandelier and add a long rug in colors to match the adjoining room

Ugh, nothing I'd love more at the end of a tiring work day than entering my house to a full-length mirror reflecting my under-eye bags! bleah.

I'm with cpaul. Make a pleasant vignette at the end of the hallway (with or without cat station hidden below) and call it a day.

HI -- Your photo is so cute with the cat and the dog peeking around . This hall looks nice so without talking re-modeling .... your first point of interest is the far end wall . It should draw you in with something interesting . Perhaps a dark color with a stunning portrait or a painting with perspective or vivid color . Even an artful photo . But it should be larger to see as you enter . A long carpet .. side to side stripes will make the hall look shorter if you like . Your hall is not too long . Put the mirror on one of the side walls maybe the left side . The floors are nice so maybe you do not need the runner carpet in the summer .

I agree with Patricia. I would do a piece of art instead of the mirror or even add a small console table with a plant on there. With rules of feng shui, you do not want a mirror directly in the pathway of your entry. Chi will come in and reflect off the mirror and bounce right back out of your home. As good chi flows into your home, you want the chi to keep flowing through out your home. There are lots of good reads if you want to follow some rules of feng shui. Good luck!

Kendrah's second picture is what you should do at the end. That, a long and fabulous runner and new lighting will make this hallway tres inviting.

Veronica, I notice you only have a 4' opening at the end of the hall, so your console there will have to be shallow, really no more than a foot in depth.

Not sure what items you want links for, Veronica. The runner in my first comment is from manhattanrugs.com. Beautiful quality stuff. The console I just stole from Kendrah, but it actually looks like a plant stand.

I would go to Wayfair.com and look at their console tables. The nice thing there is that you can refine by a bunch of attributes including width, height, and depth so you know you're not looking at ones that won't fit.

yessss…..with a colorful runner. My first thought was replacing the mirror with a full length mirror. Table and art hung above also works.
