The "office" in our 1835 home (formerly the county poorhouse) needs some TLC. It's a multi-function room that hosts: my craft supplies and projects; computer work; husband's coats (we have very limited closet space); functional fireplace (used daily in winter to reduce energy costs); and guests (my youngest brother gets stuck with this room when the family visits). I've found it very challenging to achieve a comfortable layout in this room, partially due to limitations created by the hearth and built-ins (although I love and wouldn't sacrifice either!). Does anyone have any helpful suggestions to improve the "feng shui" in here? Note that I'm not super partial to any of the furniture, except for the daybed (it was my mom's when she was a little girl). Photos, dimensions, and other helpful notes in this album. Thanks so much!
