Bertch or Teddwood

We’re doing a custom kitchen remodel, and I have the same design/layout planned out and quoted in both Bertch and Teddwood (I won’t tell you which is more expensive at this point). Most cabinets are painted with only the island being considered for a stain finish.
Is there any significant difference in quality or performance between the two manufacturers based???

Thanks for the input and experiences!

We used Bertch Legacy maple painted Shaker style cabinets (plywood, full extension drawer) when we re did our kitchen 17 years ago. I know they are a US mid grade but we were terribly disappointed. Within three months, several door panels had cracked as had a cabinet end panel. Our contractor pitched a fit and Bertch replaced the door panels without any issues. The rep basically told us to be more careful with water—only one of the door panels was anywhere near water (it was the sink cabinet) and one of the doors and the end panel were on upper cabinets! A bookshelf on the island had the paint on the shelf begin to crack and peel within 4 years. Despite being super careful, the cabinet finishes did not hold up at all and my kitchen looked more worn than the 70 year old kitchen cabinets I grew up with. I even had the furnace/HVAC humidity checked and it was fine (we have a furnace humidifier and have never had problems with our hardwood floors, built ins or any of our crown/ casing moulding).
We just remodeled and when the contractor took our old Bertch cabinets to Habitat for Humanity, they graciously declined to accept them because they didn’t meet their standards! I don’t know if their stained cabinets are a different story or we just had a bad batch but never again!!

We didn’t use their kitchen cabinets but installed Bertch vanities and towers in the bathrooms of our former home for several years (at least 10 in one bathroom and about 8 in the other) and they were great. One was stained and the other was black/espresso and both finishes held up great and still looked new when we sold the house.

I have a Bertch master bathroom vanity that was already installed in the home that I purchased. I have been in the home for 4 years, I'm guessing the vanity is about 7-10 years old and it has held up beautifully. My kids dribble toothpaste down the front and when I scrub it out from the nooks and crannies, the paint still holds up as if it were brand new. No issues with the slow close drawers. No issues with the doors or hinges at all.
