We have Shaw Resilient in Resort Teak color LVT planks and we love it. Scratch resistant, waterproof, and nice underfoot. And looks very nice!

Why not have the floor stained

We are adding a room with the laminate or luxury vinyl plank, so staining isn’t an option.

Yes we installed and it was time consuming but fairly simple! Just lots of measurements, and you only need a box cutter to score and snap the planks.

We started in the kitchen and lived on it for a couple months then did all the living areas. We wanted to make sure it held up and didn't bubble like some reviewers said it did. It has held up great with kids and we are not easy on our floors whatsoever. We purchased at lowes.

@Beth good point about the clutter. What I would like to do is paint the cabinets a cream color and distress. New dark metal cabinet hardware (can’t think of the proper term). And a luxury vinyl plank similar to Annie. Paint the walls light grey, install a tiny rectangular glass tile back splash, and Cambria countertops.

are you thinking about oil rubbed bronze handles?

I was going to mention hardware, but didn't want you to think I was attacking your kitchen! (although, can we talk about removing the window covering above the kitchen sink and going w/a simple roman blind or shade?)

BTW, if that's the cabs you have, I'd look into just getting new cabinets. If going through all the trouble of new countertops, flooring/backsplash, new cabs (with inset doors, or full overlay) would be ideal. you can find some for well under 4K. I'd also look into the pre-fab countertops to save you more money. you can get quartz, granite, marble, etc in the prefabs. a 9' pre-fab is about 350-600 bucks. your installer cuts it to your dimensions. I'd also check Craigslist for kitchen cabs, countertops, tile. I've seen people list brand new kitchens on there for 1K. (house flippers or new buyers usually list them for sale).

Beth, are you planning on doing all the things you listed or keep the cabinets cherry? The hardware you described sounds like oil rubbed bronze (orange bronze undertone and black finish) or perhaps pewter (dark silver grey). There is also plain black and other variations like oil rubbed copper out there. If you keep the cabs cherry, perhaps a very light creamy wood color? People have strong opinions about it ranging from love to hate, but it can help make the space lighter and I think would look nice with the cherry cabs. The photo is of my floors that were just grouted. They are wood look tile, not LVP, but similar colors exist in LVP. Just another option. I too have a small kitchen and wanted to keep it bright.

We had Mannington Adura LVP installed a few years ago. We love it. I think your house would look nice with a light honey colored floor.

I know this was a while ago, we sold the house! We painted the walls a light silver, changed the hardware and declutterred! I’ll be posting shortly of my next design dilemma.
