Are my avo trees dead?

last modified: 7 years ago

Hi there.I wonder if you could possibly assist me please?I repotted my 2 avocado trees into bigger pots with potting soil and fertilizer about 3 weeks ago. They were looking amazing and healthy and loved their position at my bedroom window prior to this. Unfortunately they were too heavy to move back inside so I decided to leave them because it's summer here now so I thought they would be ok.I went in holiday for about a week and on returning I came back to VERY distressed trees with the leaves completely wilted and crunchy. I have no idea whether they were watered at all (I did ask the house sitter to do so but I can't be sure). I've been trying to rehabilitate them. I read that the salt in the fertilizer could have been a problem so I have watered quite a bit to try to flush them out and sprayed the leaves a bit as well. I have also managed to move them back to their original place in my bedroom. I have seen no positive change but there has also been no more deterioration. The leaves are so crunchy but still hanging on strongly. Should I cut them off? That would leave only the trunks or stems though. I would appreciate ANY help you can give. Thank you. Nicks
